Morpeth made the long trip down to the East Riding of Yorkshire to take on another mid table team in Driffield ,with the home side coming out on top. Unfortunately for Morpeth fly half Matt Jinks was unavailable with Skipper Wilkinson moving to 10 and Will Thornton returning to the side at full back.
Morpeth started the stronger but Driffield swept upfield to score a converted a try ,however ,Morpeth came back with a score of their own through vice captain Joe Forsythe which was converted by Sutherland ,this with just 11 minutes gone. This lead was increased with a try by winger Stu Hills again converted by Sutherland making the score 14-7 to the Mitford Road outfit. That lead was cut back to just 4 points when Driffield scored a penalty before half time. This lead for Morpeth was deserved at this point in the game.
The second half was a different story with the Yorkshiremen running away with the game. An early penalty set them on the way followed by a converted try to take the lead which was increased to 23-14 with another penalty and although Morpeth showed character fighting back with an unconverted try from flanker Richie Armstrong to make it 23-19. Driffield sealed the points with a converted try to make it 30-19 to the home side.
