Morpeth RFC Under 11's turned on the style once again on Sunday when they won the County Cup after a very competitive day's rugby held at Northern's McCracken Park ground. In ideal weather conditions the Morpeth squad topped their qualifying group after games against Percy Park Pumas, Tynedale and Alnwick. A tough semi-final match versus Northern ensued but it was Morpeth who qualified for the final where they met Percy Park Lions who had played Alnwick in the other semi. The fitness, resilience and superior technical ability of the Morpeth youngsters saw them run out comfortable victors in the final scoring 3 trys without reply and they were then deservedly presented with the County Cup.
